What is NOCN

PALSO collaborates exclusively with the NOCN (National Open College Network) certification body for the conduct of examinations in Greece. NOCN meets all the legal requirements and it is recognized by ASEP.

Founded in 1987, NOCN has partnered with over 2,500 centers in the UK, providing certification for over 400 recognized qualifications and partnering with a number of countries. It is a test based on real scenarios and the content of the exams is based on everyday situations. NOCN is designed for candidates whose native language is not English, for everyday or professional use, for recognition of their language level as well as for study. The candidate must achieve the passing score in all 4 skills.

NOCN exams

Examinations are held twice a year (May and December). The NOCN Exam Results are available for the May candidates at the end of July and for the December candidates at the end of February.

Certificates are issued 2 months after the results are posted.

NOCN advantages

Age-adjusted

NOCN has Reading & Writing topics that are perfectly suited for ages 13 to 15. This age group is also the majority of prospective students in Greece, mainly at B2 level.

Friendly designed

The written exams follow the typology of multiple-choice answers, which is very familiar and student-friendly. The oral exam is conducted by one examiner with one student, which reduces the usual stress of the candidates, especially at a young age. In addition, in the Reading – Listening comprehension sections the candidate does not need to produce speech, which makes the assessment of the 4 separate skills quite distinct.

Stable Structure & Score

From level B1 to C2 the same multiple-choice typology is maintained. Therefore, the student does not need to adjust from one level to another.

Recognized by ASEP

Under the decision with Protocol number 2014 / 28-2-2014, NOCN meets all the legal requirements and it is recognized by ASEP.
